The Liminangcong region, which is located in the northern part of the Philippine island province, is home to a fishing community.

Under the micro-grid power agreement, signed by Governor Baham Mitra, PowerSource Philippines take over the management of the mini-grid that was established by the government in the area.

The provincial government set up the micro-grid to provide electricity to the fishing community, but has recently witnessed a rise in demand as fishermen seek to store their catches prior to a sale.

The company will also add more facilities, repair and rehabilitate power lines and connect the new facilities to households, reported Electric Light & Power.

PowerSource Philippines is expected to provide 20-24 hours of electricity to the residents of Liminangcong.

PowerSource was selected as the first and only Qualified Third Party to maintain the mini-grids of the Department of Energy (DOE), Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and National Power Corporation-Small Power Utilities Group (NPC-SPUG).
