Efficiency and power tests have been successfully completed on two new runners for Pelton turbines at the Henry Borden hydro plant in Sao Pablo, Brazil.

According to IMPSA Hydro, the new runners it supplied to the project developed 4% more efficiency and power than the older runners, while operating during maximum opening of the injectors.

Empresa Metropolitana de Aguas y Energia, a significant power generator in Brazil, commissioned Impsa to supply, design, manufacture and test the two Pelton runners to replace some of the eight runners located in the external section of the plant.
