The renewable resources may include wind, geothermal, biomass, biogas, solar or hydroelectric power and must have a minimal capacity of 10MW.

Commenting on the proposal PGE power operations and resource strategy vice president Jim Lobdell pointed to the growing percentage of the electricity delivered by the company was being generated by renewable resources.

"This RFP will be an important step in meeting the state’s renewable power goals, and together with our separate RFP for baseload and capacity resources will help solidify our ability to continue providing reliable, affordable power to our customers for years to come," said Lobdell.

The RFP is expected to be consistent with the state’s public utility commission’s guidelines with the Accion Group acting as an independent evaluator to review submitted bids.
