According to a report published in the UK, construction companies that do not offer partnering frameworks will lose out on tenders. Entitled Partnering in the construction industry, the report reveals that 80% of companies would favour a contractor offering a partnering arrangement, all other factors being equal.

Commissioned by UK contractor Galliford, the survey suggests that customers and their advisors do not believe that competitive tendering is delivering either the cost savings or level of quality they require.

Despite the fact that just 10% of respondents had undertaken a partnering project before 1995, more than one third now agree that partnering offers the best solution to ensure that budgets are not exceeded. The survey, which was carried out in the UK, questioned senior managers in the private and public sector.
