The Sylvania Ultra A-Line 12W LED bulb, a part of a complete line of energy-efficient LED bulbs designed for household lamps and lighting fixtures, is claimed to provide 810 lumens of light, use 80% less energy and last 25 times longer than incandescent bulbs.

The Sylvania Ultra A-Line 12W LED bulb, which features Osram LED module and has a color temperature of 2700K with a color rendering index of 90, is dimmable and mercury free, unlike standard compact fluorescent bulbs.

The new bulb, which accompanies full line of Sylvania Ultra LED bulbs, including MR16, PAR20, PAR30, PAR38 and G25 types, will be available on Lowes.com this month and in all Lowe’s stores by second-quarter 2011.

With the majority of Americans considering energy efficiency an important factor when choosing a light bulb, the Sylvania Ultra LED bulbs are designed to meet federal efficiency standards that will phase-out the production of energy inefficient incandescent bulbs, starting in 2012.

Lowe’s vice president of merchandising Karena Bailey said that long-lasting, energy-efficient LED bulbs can help save consumers’ time, energy and money over the lifetime of the bulb.

"Lowe’s is proud to introduce a 60W equivalent, 810-lumen LED bulb to provide consumers with the best energy-efficient lighting choices for their homes," Bailey said.
