US-based gas distributor Oneok Partners has completed the first phase of an expansion project that seeks to double the gathering pipeline capacity of Fort Union Gas Gathering by adding approximately 150 miles of new gathering lines and 650 million cubic feet per day of additional capacity.

The partnership’s subsidiary, Crestone Powder River, has a 37.04% interest in Fort Union Gas Gathering.

The first phase of the project has added more than 200 million cubic feet per day (mcf/d) of additional capacity. The second phase, scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2008, will bring on an additional 450mcf/d of capacity.

The new capacity has been fully subscribed for 10 years, beginning with the in-service date of the expansion. The entire project is expected to cost approximately $110 million and is being project-financed by Fort Union Gas Gathering.
