Oklahoma Senator Ron Justice, current and former Tuttle City Council members, Tuttle City Manager Tim Young, Tuttle Police Chief Don Cluck, Public Works Director Ray Collier and Water Superintendent Steven McVicker have attended the dedication ceremony.

Young has presented a plaque commemorating that the new system which features the names of city officials who were in office when the project originated.

“It tastes much better and there’s no rationing like last year,” said Susan Routh, wife of Tuttle City Councilman Brian Routh.

“The water tastes much better and the water pressure is increasing across the community,” said Young in an earlier interview.

McVicker said that the new system the chlorine levels are more consistent, nitrate levels are down and sulfates, which give the water a bad taste, have been removed. The pH levels have also been adjusted from being too acidic to a more balanced level.

In the past, the Tuttle Water Department has issued warnings for pregnant women and children under the age of six to avoid drinking city water.

The $4 million project will include new 12-inch water pipes running east parallel with Hwy 37 from downtown Tuttle to Newcastle.
