The company received 12 claims under US patent number 7,936,151 which is a continuation of the invention issued July 2010 under US patent number 7,683,577.

The patented circuitry offers a near-zero current wake-up circuit for monitoring battery packs, in the stand-by-state improving performance.

O2Micro strategic marketing director Bill Densham said thelLong battery life is a critical eature for various battery powered cordless electrical devices.

"This patent can extend battery life for notebooks, cell phones, PDAs, and power tools, especially if used intermittently," Densham said.
