The survey, designed to detail the Razorback prospect is estimated to contain 43 MMbls oil in place (P50).

The primary target is the Triassic Sherwood Sandstone and the secondary target is the Jurassic Oolite reservoir.

The Razorback prospect is located to the east and close to the giant Wytch Farm field.

Norwest confirmed the Razorback is favourably located, but the prospect is defined by a coarse 2D seismic grid.

The current survey will infill this coarse grid and provides sufficient detail to demonstrate the prospects structural integrity.

The joint venture partners in PEDL 239 include NWE Mirrabooka (UK) with a 75% stake and Wessex Exploration with 25%.

The survey is expected to take two weeks to complete.
