The 23 MW project is expected to produce 73 gigawatt hours per year, which is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of about 10 000 Swedish households.

“We are very pleased with today’s deal, which was settled in fierce competition with other professional players in the market. Our team has done a fantastic job in the development of the project. Especially satisfying is that Jämtkraft is a company with which we have a tradition of doing business, starting with Hornberget wind farm in 2006. I am convinced that the Kyrkberget wind farm will have a strong owner in Jämtkraft,” said Anders Barne, chief executive officer (CEO) of Nordisk Vindkraft.

“Jamtkraft’s ambition is to be a significant player in the wind field and the purchase of Kyrkberget wind farm is an important strategic acquisition. Our past experience of Nordisk Vindkraft as a professional developer means that we look forward with confidence to this cooperation. Our intention is in the coming years to make significant investments in wind energy, preferably in cooperation with others,” said Melcher Falkenberg, head of Jämtkraft’s wind power ventures.

“We are proud that we have received the confidence of Nordisk Vindkraft and Jamtkraft to supply wind turbines for Kyrkberget wind farm. We will be delivering turbines that are particularly suited for sites with low to medium wind speeds,” said Ulf Troedsson, CEO of Siemens.
