Erie Boulevard Hydropower, a subsidiary of Orion Power Holdings, has entered into a three-year agreement to supply Niagara Mohawk Power Corp (NiMo) with all of the electric output from its 650MW hydroelectric facilities in New York, US. NiMo will pay for the capacity and energy at fixed rates.

The sales start in October, when Erie Boulevard’s current supply agreement with Niagara Mohawk expires. Based on average water flows at the hydro plants, Orion Power estimates the agreement will produce about US$350M in revenues during its term.
