Both nuclear power plants are VVER 440 reactors and owned by the Slovakian energy company Slovenske Elektrarne.

The Mirion equipment includes over 350 radiation monitors and supporting processing electronics from the MGP Instruments Ramsys product line, covering all aspects of radiation monitoring including several types of monitors that conform to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) 10 CFR 50 Appendix B Quality Assurance Program.

These systems will be installed over the next two years by VUJE, Mirion’s local design and engineering partner on this project.

JeanGouronc, president of RMS division at Mirion, said: “We are honored to assist Slovenské Elektrárne a.s. with their instrumentation needs. Our standard monitoring systems are designed to meet rigorous technical, quality and commercial requirements.”
