Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has received an order for 42 of its MWT92/2.4 wind turbines from PPM Energy.
The order for the 2.4 MW units marks the world first for Mitsubishi and PPM Energy, part of the ScottishPower group, is now promoting a new project to boost capacity by more than 1,900 MW when the wind farm goes on-line, due by the end of 2008.
Turbine blades and towers will be sourced from VienTek, LLC and Bergen Southwest Steel, respectively.
