Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has secured an order to supply gas turbine combined-cycle (GTCC) power generation equipment to POSCO Power.

The company will supply two sets of the power equipment to fire by-product gases from iron-making furnaces at POSCO’s Pohang Works in South Korea.

MHI will deliver the equipment between 2012 and 2013 and these GTCC plants have a total generating capacity of 290MW.

The company will be responsible for the design and manufacture of the gas turbines, steam turbines, gas compressors and electrostatic precipitators (dust collectors) as well as peripheral equipment.

The generators will be delivered by Mitsubishi Electric Corp and Mitsubishi Corporation will handle the trade particulars.
