Under the contract, MGJV will provide the planning and execution of mechanical, electrical, access, fire protection application, blasting and painting, cladding and insulation services.

Work under the two-year contract is due to start in early 2016.

Located 1,260km north of Perth, the Karratha gas plant covers about 200ha. It is part of the North West Shelf Project.

Woodside Energy operates the gas plant on behalf of the North West Shelf Venture (NWSV).

The NWSV partners include BHP Billiton, BP Developments Australia, ChevronTexaco Australia, Japan Australia LNG and Shell Development. All the partners hold 16.67% stake in the project.

The Karratha gas plant comprises five LNG processing trains, two domestic gas trains, six condensate stabilization units and three LPG fractionation units.

With a capacity to produce 12,000 tons of domestic gas per day, the plant has storage and loading facilities for LNG, LPG and condensate.

Monadelphus Group managing director Rob Velletri said: "Monadelphous has a long-term commitment to the Karratha region and we are particularly pleased to be selected together with our joint venture partner Giovenco as a services provider for this important program of works."
