PV plant

The company has entered into an EPC agreement to build four plants in the counties of Cambridgeshire, Devon, Nottingham and Swindon.

The agreement follows the successful completion of the first round of the previously announced 50MW in development.

Developed PV plants will be added to the Lightsource asset management portfolio in the UK.

Under an operation and maintenance (O&M) contract, Martifer Solar will be retained to ensure the optimal performance of the plants.

Martifer Solar country manager said, "We have been very active developers in the UK market and are looking forward to a continued healthy pipeline of utility-scale projects in development to be ready to build throughout 2014 and early 2015."

Around 308,418 modules were used for the five PV plants that were installed in ground-mounted fixed structures, across a total area of about 155 hectares.

The total portfolio of plants will generate around 69.05GWh of clean energy annually, while it will produce equivalent energy to supply the average consumption of 38,815 inhabitants. The PV project will offset the emission of approximately 31,582 tons of CO2 annually.
