Under this project, which is aimed at demonstrating the application of LED interior luminaries for community properties, Climate ESCO will retrofit the entire interior lighting system of the district’s Northlands Golf and Country Club house.

Through the installation of the LED lighting technology, which is claimed to be up to 80% more energy efficient than incandescent or fluorescent lighting, the country club is expected to incur long-term financial and environmental benefits.

The District will also commission an independent third-party company to monitor the project, which is anticipated to reach completion by the end of September 2010.

Mantra CEO Larry Kristof said that Mantra has been committed in LED lighting since its inception because of its potential to reduce electric power demand as LED lighting is the single most effective way to instantly reduce energy consumption.

“The US has estimated that full implementation of LED in place of existing incandescent and fluorescent lighting has the potential to reduce demand by 26%,” Kristof said.
