The technology company will provide about 400,000 water communication modules, mobile collection system, field collection system software and overall project management.

The automated metering solution, which will be installed over the next five years, is expected to enable LVVWD to remotely collect meter data, improving efficiency and accuracy of meter reads.

In addition, the solution will give LVVWD access to detailed usage data for faster bill resolution, better customer service, and improved conservation programs.

Itron’s Water North America sales, marketing and delivery VP Paula Billingham stated, "Itron’s automated metering solution for water will give LVVWD the tools it needs to streamline operations and maximize its resources today and into the future."

LVVWD, a non-profit agency, provides water to over one million residents and 35 million annual visitors in Southern Nevada.
