Kaztsink, Kazakhstan's national zinc producer, is to invest US$2M this year on modernising the Bukhtarma hydroelectric power plant, according to the Interfax news agency.
The Kazakh government has transferred the plant to Kaztsink under a long-term concession agreement. Major investment in the production of energy and environmental facilities is necessary for the sustainable operation of Kaztsink’s core production, said the company.
