JA Solar’s product focus is on mono-crystalline silicon solar cells that feature advanced diffusion techniques and advanced plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition film forming. The company’s solar cells are used extensively in photovoltaic-generated electricity for power stations, residential power and in fields including telecommunications and transportation.
Kurt Laetz, SVTC Solar program manager, said: JA Solar is an established, global manufacturer of photovoltaic products, and it’s a testament to the quality of our new facility and our vision for the solar industry that they have signed on as a customer. We expect that other leading solar manufacturers, as well as start-up and yet-to-be-introduced companies, will also join the Silicon Valley Photovoltaic Development Center.
