Global technology firm Itron has launched a new thermal energy meter with embedded ultrasonic technology, which is expected to help utilities measure energy more accurately and reliably.

The CF-UltraMaxx V meter provides data about usage patterns, apart from measuring energy usage in heating and cooling systems.

The new thermal energy meter is a compact meter available currently in capsule or in inline versions. Itron said both versions are easy to install.

Itron’s latest meter could measure very high and low energy flow for residential areas. It can provide detailed information about the operation of heating and cooling systems over time.

Commenting on the new meter, Itron water marketing VP Gavin Van Tonder said the company is providing flexible thermal energy meter with advancements.

"The accuracy, reliability and long life-expectancy of this meter makes it the clear choice among thermal energy meters currently on the market," Tonder added.
