Process Control & Automation Systems Ltd (PCAS) in County Carlow, Ireland, has successfully penetrated the global power generation automation market with a product called Power Generation Auto-mation (PGA).
The company, which specialises in the provision of complete hydropower station automation solutions, has recently secured significant international business as a result of the PGA range; estimated at more than £3M for the whole of 1997. According to David Rowlands, marketing advisor of the Irish Trade Board: ‘This new product has brought PCAS into a new phase of substantial growth and development. Bus-iness development relationships have been set up with key electrical engineering companies and turbine manufacturers in Europe, Japan and Korea. This underlines the global nature of PCAS which is exporting into highly promising markets, such as the power hungry regions of South East Asia, Central and South America and Eastern Europe.’ PCAS has been involved in the power generation industry for 21 years and is entering a significant period of expansion. ‘Sales are projected to grow from the current level of £3M to £8M over the next three years, and to £15M over the next six years,’ Chris Lacey, managing director of PCAS, said.
