Under the terms of a E200 million contract Alstom is to build a 900 MWe power plant in Iran. The contract was signed by Alstom, Iranian company MAPNA Investments, and the United Arab Emirates company Napna International. The plant, sited at Hormozgan, on the Gulf, is due to enter service in December 2004. Alstom will supply the six GT13E2 gas turbines, including the generators, and will supervise the erection and commissioning work. In addition it will provide spare parts for a five-year operating period. The power station may be expanded at a later date into a combined cycle plant with an output of 1400 MWe.
