Intercity Transit of Olympia, Washington, has selected Urban Solar's solar powered lighting systems for its bus shelters.

The five-year contract between Urban Solar and the nationally-recognized transit agency couples powerful LED technology and intuitive power management with environmentally friendly solar power to enhance safety and the customer experience of transit riders in the state capitol city and surrounding area.

Urban Solar said that Intercity Transit selected its PV-Shelter series solar systems for its high output LED lighting, integrated low-profile and vandal-resistant attributes.

Combining bright white LED technology with Urban Solar’s Energy Control Module, the PV-Shelter provides a comfortable waiting environment for bus riders awaiting their bus and ensures that riders will be seen by bus drivers and other motorists, the company said.
