Trident Energy has announced that tests at the New and Renewable Energy Centre (NaREC) demonstrate the viability of its Direct Energy Conversion Method wave power device.
The low-cost, patented technology which converts wave energy directly to electricity through a unique form of linear generator is now ready for 12 month intensive testing ahead of a full-scale commercial roll-out. In the event of a storm, the linear generators act as linear motors and extract the floats from the sea to prevent damage.
