Innergex president and CEO Michel Letellier said the company is very pleased to have realized this project in partnership with the Kanaka Bar Indian Band.

"Kwoiek Creek represents yet another project developed in the best interests of the host community, our partners and our investors," Letellier added.

"We look forward to building more projects in partnership with First Nations and local municipalities in the future."

The construction of the facility was started in 2011 and completed in December 2013 as scheduled.

Average annual production at the Kwoiek Creek facility is estimated to reach 223,400MWh, sufficient to power over 20,000 BC households.

Electricity produced at the plant will be supplied to BC Hydro, as per a 40-year fixed-price power purchase agreement.

In its first full year of operation, the hydroelectric station is estimated to generate revenues and adjusted EBITDA of approximately $18m and $15m respectively.
