US and India have decided to reorganize their interaction and condense around 27 ongoing bilateral talks at various levels known as five pillars of the relationship, strategic and defence cooperation, science & technology and health innovation, energy and climate change, education and development, and economic, trade and agriculture.

The officials from India and US have also firmed up the technology safeguards agreement that will allow India to introduce satellites built with US-origin equipment. This is estimated to be signed during the visit of US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and is an important precursor to the commercial space launch agreement.

During the visit of Clinton, another agreement on science and technology cooperation will also be completed, which will establish an endowment fund, with equal contributory partnership between the two nations, to facilitate exchange of people and projects.
