$10 trillion in investment needed over next 25 years

Figures from the International Energy Agency project global investment requirements in the electricity industry of close to $10 trillion by 2030. In its latest World Energy Outlook, IEA assumes demand growth of 2.5% per annum between 2000 and 2030. According to the Agency, European OECD countries will require $842 billion of investment on generation while north America will require some $910 billion and Russia $138 billion in the same sector.
