The Islamic Development Bank has offered a US$37.3M loan to Iran to finance the construction of a dam and associated irrigation network at Aydoghmush bordering the northwestern Iranian provinces of East Azerbaijan and Ardebil, according to the IRNA news agency.
The cost of building the dam is estimated at US$105.2M, with US$61M being provided by the Iranian government. The dam will irrigate 13,600ha of land.
