The Idaho Public Utilities Commission (IPUC), a public utilities commission for the US state of Idaho, has approved energy company Avista’s multi-party settlement agreement and accepted its proposal to revise electricity and natural gas monthly bills.

The revised rates will be implemented in two phases starting from 1 April 2013, while the second revision will come into effect from 1 October 2013.

Base price of electricity will not be increased but as per the approved proposal, the monthly bills of residential electric consumers using an average of 930KWh per month will be increased by $2.04 starting from 1 October 2013.

The increased rate of $2.04 will be paid for a revised monthly bill of $80.73.

Starting from 1 April, the base rate of natural gas will see a hike of 4.9%. The residential users using an average 60 therms per month will have to pay $2.82 per month extra for a revised monthly bill of $55.37.

From 1 October 2013, the residential natural gas customers will see an additional increase of $0.31 per month for a revised monthly bill of $55.68.

Avista is a US-based energy company and its operating division Avista Utilities provides electric service to 362,000 customers and natural gas to 323,000 customers.
