Clean energy firm Iberdrola Renovables has inaugurated its E24 million Dos Pueblos wind farm, straddling the municipalities of Miedes de Atienza and Banuelos in the Spanish province of Guadalajara.

The wind farm, commissioned in December 2007, has an installed capacity of 20MW and uses 10 Gamesa G87 wind turbines.

Its annual output is expected to be enough to supply the electricity needs of around 70,000 people, and it will spare the atmosphere 42,500 tonnes of annual CO2 emissions and save 10,400 tonnes of crude oil, according to Iberdrola Renovables.

The commissioning of this wind farm in Guadalajara is reported to be part of Iberdrola’s involvement in the economic and social development of the Castile-La Mancha region, in which it plans to invest a total of E630 million over the next three years.
