Spanish renewable energy company Iberdrola Renovables has raised its installed capacity by 1,529MW over the past 12 months to 12,006MW.

The company has reported its record wind output in the third quarter of 2010, producing 18,091 million kWh at all its facilities around the world, which marks a 20.2% increase on the same period last year.

Iberdrola Renovables has 5,593MW of installed capacity in Spain, 4,314MW in the US, 910MW in the UK and 1,189MW in the rest of the world.

The largest capacity increase in the last 12 months has been in the US, where the company has brought 855MW of power projects on stream.

The company generated 7,430 million kWh of wind power in the US in the third quarter of 2010, an increase of 29.5% compared to the same period of 2009.
