Fourteen people have been killed with a further 26 missing following a mudslide which hit the construction site of the Baihetan hydropower project in Sichuan Province, China, the Xinhua News Agency has reported.

The mudslide occurred in late June following heavy rains in the area. Rescuers have so far retrieved 14 bodies but are still looking for other workers who were reportedly washed into the Jinsha River. All those killed and missing are workers at the construction site and their families.
