Korea Water Resources Corporation (KOWACO) has awarded Honeywell Process Solutions a US$3.2M contract to implement the second stage of its generated integrated operating system project.
Honeywell will now use its SCADA system and PHD to automate and integrate control systems for nine of KOWACO’s hydro power plants and hydraulic dams. The work will allow KOWACO to control the power stations and dams from its head end control centre.
The SCADA solution is to include DB server, SCADA server with PLC, operator work station, training simulator system, power analyser and application of power generation information.
KOWACO currently supplies some 65% of the total hydro power generated in South Korea.
