Earlier, these two gas fields had produced small amounts of gas over the past several years since they were originally drilled in 1998.

High Plains Gas has developed a recompletion program that has increased gas production in both fields to 75% of their original 1998 production volume, or over seven times the production volume at the time of HPG’s purchase.

Production volume has increased to such a level that HPG has met the limits of its compression capacity within the Grams and Mills Gillette fields.

HPG is working with gas marketing and compression firms to set additional compression to handle their recompletion program in these fields.

The company said that it is investigating additional gas fields in the region to implement similar recompletion programs.
