As a starting step the two companies will combine to acquire the North Carolina Biomass/Wood Pellet Plant as a precursor to developing multifunctional energy centers in Alabama.
The energy center is to be located at the Green Mountain landfill site and will house waste-tire-to-energy, municipal-waste-to-energy, and biomass for energy production plants.
3P Energy will bring the expertise required to build a wind power plant at the site.
GreenWorld CEO Leo J. Heinl said that the companies have come together after recognizing mutual synergies – concentration on renewable energy.
