The UN Foundation, founded by CNN’s Ted Turner, is to make a US$1.7M donation to the World Commission on Dams.
The Foundation will make a direct lump sum grant of US$800,000 to the partnership initiative between the WCD and the UN environment programme. It will also ‘match’ money the partnership raises from other sources to a total of US$900,000. The first match will be made immediately, to equal a US$200,000 grant made by ABB.
