GE Energy has announced that it will supply two gas turbines, new updated turbine control systems, new fuel control valves, required package modifications, and installation and commissioning services to Danish firm Silkeborg Kraftvarmevaerk to upgrade its power plant.

As part of the conversion, modification and upgrade, GE Energy will also supply engineering, project management and field services. The gas turbines and services will be provided on a turnkey basis with both units being installed and fully operational by August 2008.

Charles Blankenship, general manager of GE Energy’s aeroderivative division, said: In choosing GE Energy for the plant upgrade, Silkeborg Kraftvarmevaerk’s main concerns were an improvement in power output and guaranteed emissions levels, while continuing to have the economical heat they’ve come to rely on.
