The first stage was to load the 310-tonne machine onto a special truck for its seven day trip by road and Rhine barge to Rotterdam, from where it was to be taken by boat to Tarragona in Spain. The gas turbine’s final destination is Gas Natural’s Plana del Vent combined-cycle power plant in Vandellos, about 130 km southwest of Barcelona.
