Gazprom has appointed Yury Shamalov as the new director general of its wholly owned subsidiary Gazflot. Mr Shamalov will replace Alexander Mandel, who is retiring.
Mr Shamalov has graduated from the academy of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia, specializing in law. Engaged in military service with the USSR armed forces for five years, he has also served in the security bodies of the USSR and the Russian Federation.
