The contract has an option to be extended to two more years.

Under the agreement, Gamesa will service 231 turbines equivalent to 244,65MW located in 11 wind farms in Italy.

SER’s fleet includes 189 Gamesa G52-850kW turbines, 33 G87-2.0MW and nine G80-2.0MW.

Gamesa said in a statement: "This contract strengthens Gamesa’s presence in the operation and maintenance services business, a key area for the company’s growth thanks to its recurring revenue, high profitability and cash flow generation."

Earlier this week, the company has signed an agreement with infrastructure investor John Laing to install its first G114-2.5MW turbines at a wind farm in Sweden.

The company will install six turbines at the Rammeldalsberget wind farm in Västernorrland county from October 2015. The facility is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2016.
