South Korea-based Daelim Industrial has awarded a contract to a unit of Foster Wheeler’s Global Power Group for the design and supply of one circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generator.

The CFB steam generator will be used at the SM200 Phase 1 Coal Fired Power Station of Sarangani Energy, a joint venture between Toyota Group and Alsons Consolidated Resources.

Switzerland-based Foster Wheeler said it has received a full notice to proceed on the contract, whose value will be included in the firm’s first quarter 2013 bookings.

The company will design and supply the 100MWe CFB steam generator and auxiliary equipment for the power plant, which is located in the province of Sarangani, Philippines.

The CFB steam generator, which will be designed to burn coal and meet applicable environmental regulatory requirements, is expected to be operational in 2015.

Global Power Group chief executive Gary Nedelka said that the fuel-flexible and eco-friendly CFB generator will provide power to the local residents in the Philippines.

"Foster Wheeler’s CFB technology is an important part of the solution to meet energy needs while addressing environmental concerns," Nedelka added.
