Foster Wheeler Global Power Group’s subsidiary has secured a contract to design and supply pulverized coal arch fired steam generators for installation at Vietnam Electricity’s (EVN) Thai Binh thermal power station in Vietnam.

Awarded by Marubeni, the contract covers designing and supplying two 300MWe steam generators and auxiliary equipment for the boiler islands.

The boilers supplied under the contract will be designed to burn local Vietnamese anthracite coal, while meeting applicable environmental requirements.

Foster Wheeler Global Power Group chief executive officer Gary Nedelka said, "Our advanced arch-combustion technology is designed for stability and low emissions while optimizing combustion efficiency."

The contract’s value and additional details, including the delivery schedule remain undisclosed.

Commercial operation of Binh Thermal Power Station’s unit 1 and unit 2 is scheduled to start in October 2017 and April 2018, respectively.
