Samsung is the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for Singapore LNG Corporation that owns and oversees the development of the terminal.

The LNG terminal will have an initial capacity of 3.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa), with provisions for expansion to 6mtpa or more, if required. Work is underway with the project being performed from Fluor’s Singapore, Manila and Houston operations centers. Total budget for the terminal funded by the Singapore government is approximately SGD1.5bn.

Peter Oosterveer, president of energy and chemicals at Fluor, said: “We are tremendously pleased to be part of this groundbreaking LNG project in Singapore. This project cements Fluor’s presence in this region of the world using our talented resources in both Singapore and Manila.”
