Construction of five more hydroelectric power plants will start in Vietnam by the end of this year, says Electricity of Vietnam

According to the Vietnamese News Agency, construction of the An Khe-Kanak hydroelectric plant will be launched in October, while construction of the Srepok 3, Tranh river 2, Huoi Quang and Chat Hamlet hydroelectric power plants will start in December.

Total investment in these plants will be around US$342M. When completed, these plants will have a combined capacity of 1293MW. The largest of the plants will be the 520MW Huoi Quang plant, which will generate 1.84BkWh of electricity a year.
