ExxonMobil said that if one-third of US motorists reduced their gasoline consumption by 2%, almost one billion gallons of gasoline and eight million tons of CO2 emissions will be saved every year. This will reportedly be equivalent to taking around 1.5 million cars off the road.
The company noted that its Mobil-1 Advanced Fuel Economy motor oil is being made available to consumers across the US in major auto and retail outlets.
Alan Kelly, president of the ExxonMobil Lubricants & Specialties Company, said: Helping improve energy efficiency in modern gasoline engines, Mobil-1 Advanced Fuel Economy improves fuel economy by up to 2% compared against 5W-30 and 10W-30 engine oils.
