Limerick Generating Station located almost 21 miles northwest of Philadelphia, US has two units which together can produce enough carbon free electricity for 2 million homes.
The decision to shut the unit temporarily was taken following a close observation and monitoring of the plant and the valve is being replaced to ensure continuous, safe, and reliable operations at the plant.
The company will test the system and complete the maintenance work before bringing the unit into service again.
