This is the second patent, US 7912660 on the EXACTER technology that allows electric utilities to pinpoint equipment that is in a condition to affect grid performance, cause an outage, or jeopardize worker safety.
Exacter CEO John Lauletta said they now have the ability to locate electrical equipment that is compromised and may result in a circuit outage do to an electrical flashover.
"These flashover-events cause electric-circuit fuses to blow or other protection equipment to operate creating an outage. When the circuit is re-energized, the circuit often returns to normal until conditions are right for the next flashover event," added Lauletta.
Exacter is a provider of predictive maintenance technologies to the electric utility industry.
