The EPA approval allows the Government of Canada to use the aggregate approach for approval of Canadian feedstocks, including canola, for biodiesel production in the US.

The decision also means biodiesel produced in the US from Canadian canola can be marketed in the US.

Currently US produced biodiesel using Canadian canola is being sold into Canadian markets in order to meet inclusion mandates in Alberta and British Columbia

The Canola Council of Canada (CCC) president JoAnne Buth said the opportunity enables CCC to increase its exports of canola into the US for use in biodiesel production.
