Planned to be built with an investment of about $500m, the project is scheduled to enter service by end of 2017.

Upon completion, the project is expected to be the second largest wind farm in Illinois and the third project for the company in the state.

Featuring Vestas-built 139 turbines, the project is expected to generate electricity required to power approximately 90,000 homes.  Each of the Vestas wind turbine will 2MW capacity.

Meanwhile, E.ON also agreed to sell half of the power produced at the 200MW Colbeck’s Corner wind farm in the Texas Panhandle to Johnson & Johnson under a 12-year power purchase agreement.

E.ON has also signed a long-term clean energy agreement with Digital Reality to provide 400MWh of power produced at the Colbeck’s Corner annually.

Recently, E.ON started providing plant services for renewable energy under the name, E.ON Energy Services.

It signed an agreement with Lincoln Clean Energy to provide asset management and balance of plant services for Amazon Wind Farm Texas.

Majority of the power produced at the Amazon Wind farm will be sold to the online retail giant under a long-term contract.

In September 2016, Novatus Energy selected E.ON Energy Services to manage four of its wind farms which have a combined generation capacity of more than 700MW.
